This was an amazing experience! I was hesitant to renovate because I had heard so many horror stories. Major Homes made this renovation a breeze, and it is beautiful!

Joe Matelsky was my project manager. What a pro! He was always available to take my calls, or called back within minutes. He coordinated all aspects of the job and called me to keep me informed and updated.They gutted my 1950's kitchen and bath, installed drywall,insulation, tiles, cabinets, new sinks, tub, tile floors, plumbing.... everything down to the molding and trim. The workers were amazing as well. They too were true pros. They offered suggestions to improve upon my plan based on their knowledge and expertise. I totally trusted them to work in my home. They all worked like a well oiled machine.

The needed parts arrived the day of or day before they were needed so there was no long term storage issues. The trash truck would arrive and carry off the junk so I wasn't following in trash. They were neat ,clean, courteous and very organized. The price quoted was the price charged. They refunded money for a washing machine hookup that was not feasible with the building's plumbing.( we didn't know until the wall was open)

My project ran a bit high because of the cabinets and supplies I selected .I wanted a cast iron bath tub and got it! I love my new bathroom and kitchen! It is a dream come true!! Thank you Major Homes!!!

I had to renovate my kitchen and heard that Angies List and FindAPro were good resources. I felt safer knowing that Major Homes had been in business for many years. Rob assisted me with the kitchen layout, and recommended places to purchase flooring, sinks, granite etc. This was helpful although I would ask for recommendations from other sources, too. The good part about it is that Major Homes has a relationship with the companies they recommend, so can faciliate the renovation process.

This is a busy company, and I did have to wait longer than I wanted to get the project started. However, Joe (project manager) tried his best to accomodate me, and even finished my job ahead of time!! Joe was responsive to my emails and phone calls and did his best to ensure that the job met all of my needs. I felt that I could trust the workers and did leave them alone in my apartment with my keys. Joe, the carpenter, was especially accommodating. Mike, the electrican, is a perfectionist who has a great work ethic. I am truly satisfied with my kitchen, just wished that the process was a bit more organized.

My experience with Major Homes proves that it is not true that "if it sounds too good to be true, it isn't." In my case it sounded good and turned out great. It was one of those rare times when an outcome surpasses your most demanding expectations.

The completely new roof that they put on my house, replacing one that was several decades old and beyond repair, was done to the highest standards in every respect. A retired neighbor of mine, who is highly knowledgeable about all facets of the construction industry, came up to me when the job had been completed and told me that he had closely watched the work as it was progressing from start to finish, and that "they did a terrific job, believe me!"

He described in detail the reasons he was so impressed. He emphasized the quality of materials used, and the chosen options and methods used in completing the job in record time.

Added to this I know first-hand that the supervisory presence, the absolute acceptance of accountability and transparency at every stage of the operation, the invariable courtesy and flexibility in planning and execution, the perfect clean-up job done immediately after completion, and every other aspect that make up professionalism, both in terms of quality of work and attitude towards business-customer relations, could not be improved upon, no matter how far you looked or how long you'd wait.

Major Homes has been an integral part of the communities they serve for several generations. I've used them for a variety of jobs over a couple of decades and not only have I never been sorry, but I've always been very satisfied and more often than not, delighted. I came to these conclusions before, out of curiosity, looking them up at seeing that they have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.

Many people are cynical these days and would guess that only a relative or friend of the owners of a company would go to the trouble of praising them so extravagantly. I have no connection to Major Homes, except as a firmly loyal customer. I am not a particularly generous guy and, in different situations involving different people, have not hesitated to complain. I am complimenting Major Homes out of a belief that giving credit where it is due is a lost art, and many folks won't go out of their way to express themselves except to be negative.

Mitch Kersch, the owner of the company, was very sensitive to my economic constraints and worked out a deal that was as fair and decent as anyone could reasonably ask, given the fact that Major Homes is a commercial enterprise and not a charity.

MAJOR HOMES AMAZED US FROM START TO FINISH !!! They really "??saved the day.". Mitch Kersch, President, came to our house to take a look at our problems of leaks from our roof and siding which were installed by two other companies that were now ignoring us. Mitch was called because the installer of the windows and siding, Wendel Home Center, repeatedly ignored our calls concerning the leak problem as we were asking to have them take a look at their installation work for possible issues that may be causing our leak. Bill from Wendel Home Center finally called back after seven phone calls and messages to reach him and even a showroom visit over two and a half weeks only to deny over the phone that his siding/window job could not be cause of leaks. Wendel simply blamed the roofing company for possibly removing flashing even though we had evidence that the flashing was never installed in the first place by Wendel Home Center. He told us that he would have to charge us to even come take a look and would charge us for any repair or adjustments. Outrageous!

Our roof had also been replaced in the last several years so upon calling the roofer to take a look, B&G Roofing, Alex from B&G came by to look and said that he found that the siding company never installed the flashing on the house and can'??t understand why his installer would have installed roof with no flashing and capping. He said that he would fix the problem, but charge us $12,000! A few days later we called the owner of B&G Roofing, Bob, about the situation and also reported to him that there was no drip edge ever put on roof and he said that the man that installed the roof no longer works for them, but also can'??t understand why he went ahead with installation of roof if no flashing or capping were present from siding job. He said he would take a look at drip edge never being installed by his roofer and the lack of flashing but never came by and ignored our phone calls for the next 3 weeks. Obviously, neither of those two companies are willing to stand behind their work or want to charge you for work that should have been done originally.

MAJOR HOMES was contacted to take look at problems with the leaks. Mitch Kersch immediately replied to our contact and came to take a look. He was shocked to find that the flashing was never installed and windows not capped at installation and exposed areas of the roof. After hearing of our situation of being ignored by our two installation companies, Wendel Home Center and B&G Roofing, and hearing that they refused to stand behind their work he felt the right thing should be done and AMAZINGLY OFFERED TO DO IT FOR FREE ! Wow! He asked again for us to give the original installation companies a chance to back up their work and after many more attempts we contacted Mitch at Major Homes and he immediately set up an appointment to do the work for FREE on both the front and back of house. His crew, led by Nick were EXACTLY ON TIME, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. They went above and beyond by locating other problems with the roof and fixed that as well. They capped the windows and removed and re-installed the bottom row of siding to install the flashing properly. They repaired parts of flashing on another small roof that were pieced together from scraps by original roofer and then sealed it all off to a professional look. They found that the original roofer, B&G Roofing, had "shorted"?? the roof causing water to go behind gutters and that no drip edge was ever installed. They fixed that problem with flashing since the roof job was so poor. ALL WORK WAS DONE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THE WORK OF MAJOR HOMES. Again, Mitch from Major Homes offered to fix all the problems from the other two companies for FREE and he stood behind his word. Mitch really cares about people and hates to see people receive poor quality work from other companies and stands behind his company'??s work.

Joe Matelsky and Mitch Kersch from Major Homes, delivered on time and accomplished everything we required. Joe went out of his way to make sure the work was done very well. Excellent craftsmanship & strong commitment to customer service

Major Homes installed 20 Okna windows in our home, including a picture window and two casements in one day. This company is very consistent in its performance. All our interactions with them from initial research about windows through negotiations to installation were very smooth and satisfactory. They patiently provided all the data we needed to make an informed and confident decision and worked with us to keep costs down. They never failed to respond promptly to all our communications.

Jason Kersch was our contact. He was attentive to meeting our needs. His knowledge of the windows his company features and competitors' products is comprehensive. Three other reputable companies came to our home for presentations, but his demonstration and ability to show exactly how his window compared more favorably to the others really took the uncertainty out of the selection process.

We first met Jason at the Major Homes booth at a LI Home Show at least two years ago and liked the Okna window on display, but weren't ready to do the job. Since that time he very courteously kept in touch with us periodically to check whether we were still interested. There was never any pressure, just a polite inquiry and an assurance that he would be available at our convenience to answer any questions when and if we were ready to move forward.

Russ was in charge of the installation. He was thorough and efficient in measuring our windows and checking all the details that we had specified for the job. When the crew came, they reviewed all the specifications with us before starting and made sure to consult us as they worked if any minor alterations to the plan were necessary. A week after the installation, when we had already paid for the job in full, we requested a modification to one window that was to require extra effort on the part of Major Homes. We left it to them to follow up at a convenient time, which they did entirely on their own, quickly with no prompting and as part of the completed project.

I contacted Major Homes and they promptly sent over a salesman that was courteous and very friendly. He listened to what we had to say and offered windows to suit our needs. A total of eight windows were installed. I had a very bad experience with a crystal manufactured window from Whitestone installed by another window company. Jason from Major Homes assured me I would be totally satisfied with my new windows. He promised his firm did not install inferior windows like the piece of junk I got scewed with from the other company. His workers installed the windows in a day and a half. They were very polite. They respected my home were very tidy and did a spectacular job installing my windows. After using a couple of different contractors who were recommended by friends on some other projects with mediocre results, we decided to take a chance and call Major Homes to schedule an appointment. Mitch, the owner, came to our home on a Saturday morning to give us our estimate. Within minutes of his arrival (with bagels in hand) we were convinced that Mitch's goal was to provide us with friendly advice and a real education as to what our options are. As corny as it sounds, we felt really good about him by the end of his almost two hour visit, and gave him a deposit on the spot. What followed was the best customer service experience of our lives. The basic differences between this and any other contractor that we had used can be boiled down to the following: 1) Integrity. Everything they told us would happen was exactly as promised. Every price was exactly as promised (sometimes even less than expected). Every piece of advice presented all options and a recommendation that was not automatically the most expensive one. 2) Their desire to make the customer happy. Everybody we dealt with made sure that we were 100% satisfied along the way and worked quickly to make things right. 3) General Management.? Major Homes assigns a project manager (in our case, Chris), and also has a crew leader on site at all times. Chris was on top of EVERYTHING, and when he wasn'??t around, Teddy was here to make sure everything ran smoothly. I never saw people work as quickly and efficiently. Each aspect of the job is done by a specialty team. The crews have obviously worked together for a long time, and amazingly, the entire job, except for a few unexpected odds and ends, was finished in about a week. 4) Communication. While communication and general responsiveness to inquiries was a real issue with other contractors we had used, we found that both Mitch and Chris responded to any e-mail inquiries within minutes of our sending them. This was a BIG job (roof, siding, gutters, every window in the house, skylights, columns, and installation of wall air conditioners), and was virtually stress free from start to finish.

I answered an ad in the local paper stating that they sometimes offer free replacement windows to needy homeowners. Major Homes' President, Mitchell Kersch, chose to visit my legally blind, and also very hard of hearing, mother's home. As a new homeowner I have had experiences with eight different contractors this past two years. Most have been unpleasant, but the issue that bothered me the most was their total disregard to respect my property.

I scheduled four companies to come and present us with quotes for new windows. Alure was the first we had in because they were supposed to be so good. I went to the Home Show and was impressed with their booth. Not only was there rep a half hour late (no apology), but he didn't even bring a SAMPLE! To this day they have not called to see why we didn't use them.

Stress about the money you are spending, then hire Major Homes

My project was a full bathroom remodel (excluding the tub) in a 4th floor walk-up apartment in Riverdale, NY. I was skeptical at first, thinking they were too good to be true and concerned with the cost, but ultimately decided that hiring them was the right decision. Joe Matelsky, the project manager, organized the various teams and kept the work on schedule.

The teams showed up when they were supposed to, and worked continuously (excluding lunch breaks) until the day's work was done. In particular, the demolition team was awesome. They gutted my bathroom in 12 hours - carrying the debris down 5 flights of stairs - and left it broom swept clean when they were done. If you are lucky, Anthony and his team will be assigned to your project. He and his team rebuilt my crumbling window and door frames; installed the sheetrock, the tile, the vanity and the accessories. (Pictures can be seen via a link on Gardenweb.com in the Bath Forums section.) Everyone who has seen my bathroom is impressed with the quality of the work.

If you are on the fence when it comes to deciding upon a contractor for your bathroom remodel, hire Major Homes. It won't be cheap, but it will be worth it.

The real professionals you thought you'd never find.

I recently had Major Homes renovate a kitchen and bathroom and build a deck and security door in the back of the house. They had previously replaced my windows and done a good job, so when I needed someone to get this work done, I called them.

Major Homes is not a cheap contractor, but I've learned that when it comes to construction, you really do get what you pay for. These guys mean business and they don't mess around. They want your house done as much as you do and believe me, that's the attitude you want from a contractor.

Major Homes was able to start the job about two weeks after we signed the contract. My construction manager was a guy named Joe Matelsky. Joe is a friendly and professional guy who manages his crews well. The kitchen, bath and deck were all being worked on at the same time and they finished the bulk of the work within three weeks or so. My job was relatively small compared to most to the work MH does, but the company and Joe in particular always treated it like a priority. He did everything he could to move the job along while also being considerate of my schedule. A few times he even sent some guys on the weekends, but was careful to check with me beforehand. I had to order some additional cabinets for the kitchen and a few weeks went by before they arrived. When they arrived, I called Joe and he had a guy there the next day to install them. This was impressive.

The quality of the work was excellent. It seems to me that MH's workers are mostly specialists who are skilled at doing specific things. One guy was a tile specialist and another guy did wall finishing, etc, and licensed electricians were brought in for all the electrical work. The end result is a much higher quality job than most contractors can offer. The tile work is perfect, the walls are smooth, and everything looks great. The deck is fantastic.

After interviewing several contractors for my siding job, I did not feel comfortable. I went on the Find a Pro website and received an estimate from Major Homes. Immediately I was impressed. Mitchell Kersch, owner and president, explained the complete siding process to me and was willing to knock down my shed and take care of the electrical issues when no other contractor wanted to. He, like me, is very anal and detail oriented and immediately my mind was at ease. When I was not able to be at home, Chris the siding project manager took care of all the electrical issues with the electrician. Everything came out beautifully.

Before the siding job was completed I knew Major Homes was the company for me and I decided to have them re-do two of my bathrooms. Joe Matelsky, the bathroom project manager, was extremely patient and took care of all the small details I insisted on.

Everything came out well. Major Homes has a good crew. Competent, polite and very neat. If you are looking for a cheap estimate than Major Homes is not for you. If you are looking for a job done right, someone who stands behind their work and someone who won't run away with your money then Major is it.

We recently hired Major Homes to fully renovate our upstairs bathroom in our home. It was a complete gut job down to removing every single pipe, wall, floor and ceiling. Our project started just before the Christmas holidays 2009. I have worked many times with Major Homes on other projects but was even more impressed with their work on this one. From their Plumbers, to Electricians, to Demo Crew, to Tile people, they did a great job. Neat and clean to say the least.

I wanted to thank you and your company for helping me out with a difficult problem that I had endured. Your company, especially your manager Mr. Mike Failla, had come to my rescue. I bought a house and when one of the windows broke, I found out that Major Homes installed the windows for the previous owner many years ago. The guarantee on the windows were no longer in effect, but I still needed help so I called Major Homes and your office immediately put me to Mike.

Your company came with no cost to replace the windows right away and to my amazement at no cost. I am really grateful and appreciative of that because no other company would have done that without charging me.

Major Homes has just completed a vinyl siding job on our home, in addition to the installation of a casement window and storm door. They are the antithesis of the looming nightmare of hiring a contractor to do a major renovation or any kind of home improvement work to your home. Salesperson Ray Caccavalle gained my confidence by not only the product he was selling but also the reputation of major homes.ray is an asset to major homes. installer Joe Rotella is a perfectionist who took pride in his work performance. He was a rare breed as an installer. They really lived up to their reputation instilled in our local neighborhood watch.

They explained the product and gave details to give me a good feeling about the windows I chose. From start to finish, they never left me hanging. From our first initial walk through with Joe we knew Major Homes was the company to go with. It literally took us 2 months to find a contractor, but the minute we met Joe we knew we were dealing with a professional!
He provided us with a detailed proposal within 24 hours at a price that NO ONE could beat. Now that the job is finally complete, I can say he kept his word on everything listed on our contract. Letter to Major Homes

Please let me take this opportunity to say thanks for all of the hard work you and your colleagues have done for me and my family over the years. My parents have been calling on Major Homes for the last 35 years and when my husband and I need to get work done around our house, you jumped right in and did it all with a smile on your face.

When we bought our house, the first thing we needed to do was have a front and back door installed. My husband called another company that was recommended to him and the job was sloppy and the doors' finish began peeling off almost immediately. Major Homes came through and replaced the doors and corrected the sloppy work of the previous company. I appreciated your guidance in choosing the right doors with the right finish for our house. They still look great!

The next thing we did was replace the shingle roof on our ranch. The roofing job was fast, clean and looks great. I appreciated the fact that when the two existing roofing surfaces were removed and we uncovered some underlying problems, you quickly stepped up with offering options and went above and beyond by meeting us halfway in an effort to be sure that the job was done right. By the end of that day, we had a gorgeous new roof that completely refreshed the look of the house.

Two years ago we decided to take the plunge and remodel our kitchen. I was not looking forward to the ordeal and seemed to hear nothing but horror stories from people that I knew that had used different contractors for kitchen remodels. I think that I am the only person on long Island that had their remodel complete on time within budget and without shedding tears. Tom, our project manager, was great and was on-site every single day of the job. He answered questions, check on orders and inspected each detail of the sub-contractors work. His timeline was perfect and allowed for no down-time. Work progressed each and every day as scheduled. He promised me that the kitchen and all of the other add-on jobs (like the hardwood floors, additional room being tiled and installation of interior doors that we added on as an after thought) would be completed in time for my son's Communion party that was to take place at the house. Well, it was all done and the party was great. It was a pleasure to show off what is now a new home.

What else can I say except -I know that my family and I are demanding clients and we have never been disappointed with any project that we hired Major Homes to complete. I will say that you get what you pay for and you guys are the gold standard!

As I'm sure you are all too well aware, it has almost become a truism these days for people to expect difficulties (if not outright disasters) in dealing with renovations and contractors. Our experience with you certainly put the lie to this. Every detail of our job was expertly and professionally attended to and the overall quality of your work was simply superb. If more people had the pleasure of dealing with Major Homes, I suspect there'd be less dissatisfied consumers out there. Phenomenal

I immediately received an email from Mitch Kersch, the owner, that he or his son, Jason, would contact me that evening. At 6 p.m. Jason, an owner also, called. I told Jason that I have an Anderson bay window that is sinking because it was incorrectly installed. He made an appointment with me for the following evening. Jason arrived at the appointed time. He is immaculate. When he entered my home, he immediately took off his shoes. He then inspected the large window; he took measurements. Jason showed my husband and me a folder containing various manufacturers' windows. He also showed us using his computer other options. After some time, we decided on a bay window with five sections that all open. The window is white vinyl inside and out and the frame is unstained and unpainted oak. Jason alleviated our fears that the new window would sink also. Major Homes is a fourth generation family owned business. You know THEY'RE GOOD. Jason also said that the old window was not supported by cables. With the new window, Major Homes would build a cable support system and build a roof on top of the window that would march our existing roof. The only remaining item was the price. It actually was much less than I expected. With the 2009 energy saving tax exemption, I will also get a $1500 tax credit. Jason told us that Russ, who is the window foreman, would call and set up a date to get the exact measurements of the window. Russ called on Tuesday and came the next day to measure the window and to see just how the installers would bring in the new window. On Oct. 21, Russ notified us that Major Homes could install the new window. I picked Oct. 28 for the installation. Carl, Raquel and Chino were the installers. The demolition of the old window went very smoothly. The installers worked very hard and with excellent precision. All three installers are true professionals. Between various tasks, they took the time to clean up. The inside and outside of the house were left immaculate. They had to buy extra siding because of the differences in the old window and the new window. They also had to work all day in the rain. When the installers finished, we had a beautiful window and there was nothing we had to do. The Hunter Douglas Duette shades from the old window fit the new window. Because they fit, we saved much money. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Major Homes owner and their extremely competent employees. We will definitely use them again and again.

Our experience working with this contractor was extremely positive and stress free. Never were there any major problems and all questions and concerns were addressed in a timely fashion. We completely re-sided our ranch home and added a new roof, doors, screen doors, windows, and lighting. The work was done in a timely fashion. The workers were very neat and polite. My wife and I dealt with many contractors, including some very unfavorable companies. It is for this reason we were very concerned and careful in choosing someone for our vinyl siding installation. Major Homes impressed us from the first time we met them. The owner showed up himself to provide samples and gave a very detailed presentation. That alone was a very positive experience. We also discussed the flexibility of a payment schedule prior to any work being done.

Most of our experiences with contractors comes with a hope that they work at 85% of what you originally wanted. Major Homes was very thorough and followed up on a level we were not accustomed to in the past. They provided good options along the way.

The initial presentation gave us the realization that we would be getting the best value for our money. We intend on bringing them back to do our roof at some point as well. I was fortunate to have videotaped the progress of the job and the amazing job that they did. I can talk about the positive features and character of Major Homes all day. I have been using them for about a dozen years and cannot only speak extremely highly towards them. They stand behind all their work, offer fair prices, and give a tremendous level of quality service. Their dependability partially stems from the staffs longevity. I often request certain people from their company to handle specific jobs because I have gotten to know them that well.

They have worked at two of my homes and I can recall my mother dealing with the first generation of their company, Harry. Even since back in those days you can always reach them and expect top notch customer service. I was fortunate enough to be placed in a position to facilitate a professional relationship with them at one time as well. I was happy to do so knowing their professionalism and business demeanor were worth trusting.

As one might imagine, Major Homes has done a variety of different jobs for me. I do have some examples touching upon the type of service they provide. I had 38 windows replaced in my home, but it was fairly extensive since the storm windows were painted numerous times and plastered to the brick of the home. They still maintained cleanliness, plastering and caulking up the new windows despite it not being part of the window replacement. The factory defects and weathering caused some very small drafts after a few years and a team from Major Homes took care of the problem free of charge. Talk about above and beyond.

I have specific style slate roof shingles that have been repaired and replaced over the years. The same expertise was used to repair a Tudor that needed the bottom replaced. With both of these difficult jobs you could not even tell any work was done. The measurements and quality were perfect, allowing the beauty to be completely restored. In fact, their work is constantly being admired.

Only a fool would not go with Major Homes with the quality of work and service. The way they stand behind their work alone is more value than you will find with anyone else. They do great work and also great design work. As if that is not enough, I have been able to trust any of their employees in my home unsupervised. My wife and compiled a list of contractors to interview with regards to a busy renovation we were planning. We wanted windows, siding, and the roof all replaced. Mitch came across as a very honest and reputable person that had great knowledge of his work.

We were ecstatic about the ease and efficiency of all the professionals of the Major Homes family of contractors. From the three exterior doors to the six full length opening picture windows to the three bathrooms, everything went without a problem.

Each and every person we dealt with couldn't have been more personable, courteous or helpful. They were right on the mark with all measurements and suggestions. Budd was the master supervisor. Vito and Anthony were the consummate professionals with the tiling and all bathroom related construction. Mike, the electrician and his men, were all experts. The plumbers couldn't have been more wonderful.

Also, I need to mention the people they sent us to work with to pick out the tile and fixtures. Dee at Blackman Plumbing was a jewel. Blackman itself was the only place I would ever go to for plumbing supplies. They have everything! It is all there, any price or quality or style.

Venezia Tile was one stop shopping. We picked out three entirely different styles of bathrooms from retro to modern and the tiles were all there. Maria and Anthony made us feel like family. There is nothing they didn't do to help us. The tiles were gorgeous. Even the delivery man was a pleasure to work with.

We need to mention the glitch factor. What we mean by this, is, anytime there was a glitch, it was handled immediately and our minds were put at ease. It was fixed to more than our satisfaction. Everything and anything we wanted was eagerly and gladly accommodated.

Did I mention how neat and clean everyone was? It hardly looked like there was all this major construction going on at once. It is true that you indeed "get what you pay for." We got ten times more than we paid. We had heard horror stories about other contractors which is why we waited so long to do anything new in the house. Now we can't wait until our next project with the Major Homes professionals.

Fifteen years ago, soon after purchasing my home, I contracted with Major homes to have the windows replaced. I own a large house with 43 windows. I was very pleased with the quality of the windows installed, and the timeliness and professionalism of the work crew. In the interim I have recommended Major Homes to both my sisters, who have had Vinyl Siding installed. They too were very pleased.

A breath of relief

If I knew then what I know now I would have went with major homes a long time ago. The home that I reside in needed major work and was purchased as a handy man special and I went with a personal reference rather than the professionals. After the initial work and still needing to pay more out to have the job completed I was then referred to Major Homes and personally introduced to Mitch whom since day one has gone above and beyond to improve my house to make it a home. Major Homes Should Be "Five Star General Homes"...Only Positive Feedback From Me

8 years ago I bought my house and Major Homes renovated the kitchen, living room, dinning room, basement and windows. Compatible pricing to their competitors but honesty, professionalism, cleanliness and fast work far exceeded my expectations. Last year I had a big problem with the wood base bowing upward on my bay window. After one phone call, Major sent over a professional to exam the problem and less then one week later the problem was solved...and no charge to me at all...This is a true example of the guarantee of their work. Last year I had them renovate my bathroom which I get rave comments from my friends and family who visit....I am very pleased to recommend Major Homes from my experiences with them.

Major Homes did work on my gutters, leaders, and soffit. I had had a hard time finding someone to do the soffit work, and Major Homes was a godsend. The job went exactly as outlined, and it was perfect. (It was also completed ahead of time.) When I had a question afterwards, the staff was still responsive, coming by the house to inspect the work, even though the job was already completed and paid for. I couldn't ask for a more professional, knowledgeable contractor. I will definitely call these guys the next time I need work done.

I found a contractor that was able to meet all my expectations in restoring and insulating a 50 year old house that I just purchased in Glen Cove.

Major Homes took on the following projects for me:

• Replacement of 23 shash windows with Starmark replacment windows that have a better rating then Pella or Anderson windows.


• Replaced existing siding with Eliminator XL 29 Insulated Siding with their glide lock attachment system.


• Replaced Leaders and Gutters


• Replaced stand alone awning with motorized awning.


• Framed and installed new pull down stairway for attic.


• Insulated and placed plywood floor in attic.


• Gutted, reframed, insulated, and sheet rocked in 3 separate rooms of the house while coordinating with plumbers and electrians.


• Installed a Boiler, Hot Water Heater, and Gas Range.

Work was done quickly, extremely well, as promised, and well priced!

I had a puddle forming in my basement and I called in a series of contractors who gave me one ridiculous explanation after another as to the cause. Mitch of Major Homes came in and immediately pulled out a ladder, climbed up on the roof and identified the cause. Within days I had a new roof and no more leaks. His team was neat, prompt, and reliable. I realized that a small additional roof over my screen roof had not been done. I was at first surprised when my phone call was not answered, but when I called again, I was told "We came back and did it as soon as you called us the first time." I looked outside and son-of-a-gun, they did!!

I have since recommended Major Homes to numerous friends and family members. All have been very happy with the work done, even one very particular relative who can never seem to pleased by anyone!

After Major Homes was finished putting up the siding on my home I wanted to brag about the job they did so I was brought to FindAPro.com. Major Homes did an excellent job from start to finish. They removed the wooden shake I had since I moved into the house. The vinyl siding put in its place looks exactly like wood, but with much less maintenance. This job also included new gutters, leaders, and soffits.

I brought in five or six contractors and Major Homes was in the ballpark with pricing. From there they continued to exceed my expectations and deliver great service. I would very highly recommend them!

The sales person was extremely friendly and helpful. The prices were extremely reasonable, half what others charged. Their color selection for siding was a bit limited, but there have been no problems.

Major Homes was providing installations for my parents and has been servicing my family for thirty years. They have done work on my primary residence and a second home over the years. I have only great things to say about them.

The list of work is fairly large considering the amount of time we have known them, it includes door installations, window installation, gutters and leaders, and even capping the garage door frame. No matter the job, the work and material are of high quality. They really do an incredible job and the finished product is perfect.
